The evolution of a best-in-class platform

Over 6 years, iCat has transformed from a one-way to a two-way communication platform, and now to a revenue-generating marketplace. Working through various iterations, Enabled has ensured alignment with Clipsal’s strategic innovation roadmap.

Communication platform

Initially, Enabled transformed their paper-based product catalogue into a portable, intuitive, and completely searchable mobile app.

The second iteration saw iCat evolve into a two-way communication platform, as it allows deeper engagement from tradespeople - one of Clipsal’s main distribution channels. This is a result of asking the right questions, such as “How do we make it easier for tradespeople to do their job?” “How do we leverage the power of mobile technology to stay top-of-mind?” This allows Clipsal to cultivate loyalty in addition to their existing initiative, effectively creating a lock-in ecosystem.

Digital marketplace

Evolving far beyond a mobile catalogue app, iCat is now poised to be a one-stop shop for Clipsal’s vast range of products. Trades people can now order Clipsal products through their favourite wholesalers directly within the app. This allows Clipsal to engage in ecommerce while protecting the Australian supply chain.

Regional impact

Schneider Electric is looking to leverage this platform through Asia-Pacific. For example, there is already a New Zealand version of iCat.
